Abstract: Modern art appreciation course is a basic theory course for art majors. In the course teaching, ideological and political theory is integrated into the course teaching, and the artistic works conforming to the characteristics of the times and with the main melody are taken as the main cases, and the works are appreciated and introduced on the basis of art knowledge, so as to guide the students' world outlook, life outlook, value outlook and art outlook in a simple but profound way,and strengthen their identification to the socialist core values, so as to enhance the validity of ideological and political education.
