An Empirical Study on Factors Influencing the Income Gap between Urban and Rural Residents in China

  • Based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2010 to 2016, this paper analyzes relevant factors that actually influence the income gap between urban and rural residents. Results show that the level of urbanization, the level of investment in education, the growth rate of GDP per capita and the level of fiscal revenue have a significant influence on the income gap between urban and rural residents.
