A Study of Young John's Translation Theory

  • Young John's translation theory is interpreted from 3 aspects:the translation of terminology, cooperative translation and rewriting. The translation strategy of setting new terms of translation mentioned in Delusions on New Terms is an evolution of John Fryer's translation strategy of terminology; having deeply explored the status quo of the late Qing Dynasty, Young John's aim of translation is represented in the materials he selected for Zhong Dong Zhan Ji Ben Mo by the mode of cooperative translation; in view of the reality of the late Qing Dynasty, Young John called for the prosperity of China through education by rewriting Education in Japan.
