On the Development of Legal Digital Currency in China from the Perspective of Currency Form’s Evolution

Throughout the history of currency development, currency has experienced the form evolution from barter system to electronic money. Each evolution is accompanied by the great progress of science and technology and people’s higher pursuit of the characteristics of currency form, which fully embodies the essential function of money. With the rapid development of Internet, cloud computing, blockchain and other technologies, digital currency emerges as the times require and becomes the development trend of future currency because of its high-quality characteristics. To promote the issuance of legal digital currency in China, it is necessary to consider and plan from a strategic perspective, accurately analyze the basis of issuing legal digital currency, deeply analyze the core technology of digital currency, closely follow the latest progress of digital currency, accelerate financial reform and opening up, adhere to the combination of compulsory use and market orientation, and gradually promote the legal digital currency to the society.
