Abstract
Homemade is one of the most popular works in Ian McEwan's short story collection First Love, Last Rites. The protagonist I in this work repeatedly breaks through moral taboos and palpitates a growth mistake drama of moral decline and ethical deficiency.From the perspective of ethical literary criticism, this paper analyzes the confusion of the young hero's ethical identity caused by the chaotic ethical environment, which leads to the ignorance of ethical consciousness and even leads to abnormal ethical choice.At the same time, it analyzes the anti-growth writing strategy of the work, which highlights the creative purpose, so as to strip out the ethical purpose of the work, and help readers fully appreciate the literary teaching function of the work.
