A Review of Research on Flower Drum Song in the Last Thirty Years

Flower Drum Song is an important component of local operas in China, widely distributed in Hunan, Hubei, Anhui and other regions, and has a solid mass foundation. Over the years, many scholars have carried out a series of fruitful researches on the art of the Flower Drum Song. Through combing the research status of Flower Drum Song art, we summarize the research results on the development origin, artistic characteristics, repertoire creation and inheritance protection of the art, discuss the research shortcomings and research prospects, and propose directions for further in-depth researches on Flower Drum Song.
