Abstract
Using the multi-task principal-agent model, the current phenomenon of "emphasise research, neglect teaching" for engineering teachers, and engineering teachers who have experience in engineering "have no incentive to invest in teaching and research" and "lack of engineering quality" for young engineering teachers to analyze. The study concluded that the imperfection of the promotion mechanism of the professional title objectively affected the direction of efforts of the engineering teachers. The lack of teacher motivation caused the moral hazard of the engineering teachers. The lack of incentive autonomy has weakened the vitality of colleges and engineering teachers. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the understanding of teaching and strengthen the incentive for teaching; further strengthen the promotion of professional titles and increase the corresponding remuneration package. Further strengthen the reputation incentives, establish and improve the reputation value realization mechanism; accelerate the decentralization of university management, and enhance the awareness of the responsibility of colleges and engineering teachers.
