Abstract
Tourism public notices and signs contribute to an important part of public notices and signs. They play significant role as ways to efficiently communicate between tourism departments and customers. However, there are many problems in tourism public notices and signs. In order to improve translation quality and linguistic landscape, translators should be good at Chinese grammar. They should translate general public notices and signs according to Guideline for the Use of English in Public Service Areas. Concerning specific public notices and signs, they should know better historical and cultural background of the scenic spot certain public notices and signs are in. Furthermore, they should use large corpus and their own bilingual abilities and translation skills.
