Abstract
American Indian poet, Joy Harjo, is very concerned about the rootlessness and survival of contemporary Indians. She draws on the traditional natural belief that all things are connected and highlights her reflection on land, non-human life and returning to tradition. In addition, she links man and nature, connects the past, the present and the future, and seeks identity and survival for the contemporary urban Indians.
