Probe into the Cultural Aesthetics of “West Building” Imagery in Classical Poetry

  • Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Chinese classical poetry began to appear a lot of "West building" imagery, more expression of the beautiful past full of melancholy sentimental sentiment, which gradually become sentimental lyric psychological symbol. Tracing the origin of lyric meaning of "West building" imagery in classical poetry, we find that its formation and development are inseparable from the realistic function of West building and its traditional Chinese culture.
