The Function and Establishment of Characteristic Column of University Journals in the “Double-First-Class” Construction

The construction of "Double-First-Class" universities not only require the first-class discipline but also the first-class journal. The current situation of journal characteristic column setting of the "Double-First-Class" construction universities is investigated. Statistics of this kind of university journal that are selected in the Chinese science citation database (2017-2018) is analyzed. The relationship between characteristic column and influence of journal is explored. The result shows that the influence of journal can be enhanced by characteristic columns. Most of the "Double-First-Class" construction universities journals do not pay enough attention to the construction of characteristic columns. The authors put forward that the "Double-First-Class" construction university journal should create the characteristic columns which match with the first-class disciplines and potential first-class disciplines, and use them to promote the construction of first-class disciplines.
