A Study of Lin Yutang's Famous Chinese Short Stories from the Perspective of Rewriting Theory

  • Lin Yutang's achievements in English writing and rewriting have attracted worldwide attention. In his book Famous Chinese Short Stories, he recompiled some legends of Tang and Song Dynasties in English to spread Chinese culture to the West. Lin Yutang caters to the reading expectations of western readers through rewriting religious thoughts and feminist thoughts, and adapts to the readers' expectations through rewriting narrative angles, characters and plots.
