The results show that the depth and breadth of students' participation in the second classroom activities have a significant effect on their participation in innovative activities, which is a positive correlation. Further study find that the spillover effect of ideological and practical activities on college students' participation in innovative activities were significant, which means college students who participate in more ideological and practical activities are evidently more active in innovative activities, and vice versa. Meanwhile, the study also found that college students who were highly active in participating the ideological and practical activities in the second classroom were more active in joining in innovative activities.
