Abstract
In the late 18th century and early 19th century, the theory of religious tolerance had a great influence on both readers and writers of romanticism novels. In Ivanhoe, for example, Scott, who was influenced by the theory of religious tolerance, depicted the religious tolerance of the church group to the believers, the religious tolerance of some Christians to the Jews and the religious tolerance of Jews to Christians.
