Abstract
The development of students' abilities is not only a requirement for future talent cultivation but also a necessity for their own survival and development. It is also one of the four important training objectives of polymer materials and engineering under the background of engineering education accreditation. In this article, taking into account the characteristics of talent cultivation in the field of polymer materials and engineering, the authors systematically discuss the cultivation path of students' development abilities. They propose a multi-path approach combining curriculum system, social practice, scientific research competitions, and other methods to enhance the level of students' development abilities. Additionally, they suggest a comprehensive evaluation system that includes self-assessment, teacher evaluation, achievement evaluation, and third-party evaluation to systematically assess the level of students' development abilities.
