Abstract
The new liberal arts education concept puts forward new requirements for legal education of college students. The current problems in the practice of legal education for college students are concentrated in the value orientation of legal education, which attaches importance to instrumental value and disregards the purpose value. The root cause is that the value orientation of the legal education of college students does not match with the rule of law culture. The connotation of the rule of law culture is related to the legal education, and the legal education of college students and the construction of rule of law culture are consistent in terms of fundamental value demands. Under the background of new liberal arts, the legal education of college students must change the traditional instrumentalist value orientation of rule of law, pay attention to the coherence of rule of law culture and the reconstruction of teaching methods in the teaching process, and make corresponding changes in the adjustment of curriculum, optimization of teaching contents, innovation of teaching methods and means and reform of teaching effect evaluation mechanism.
