Common Existence, Common Vision and Common Feelings:Community Construction in Fujian and Taiwan Youshen Folk Culture

  • Taking the “Interactive Ritual Chain” theory as the research perspective, deconstruct the folk activities of wandering gods in Fujian and Taiwan. It is found that through the folk culture activities of wandering gods in Fujian and Taiwan, we can build a sense of group unity, stimulate individual emotional energy, and generate social relationship symbols and moral standards in the wandering culture of Fujian and Taiwan. The results of these wandering gods rituals will become the constituent elements of the next wandering ritual. Such a continuous cycle makes the wandering interactive ritual gradually form a strong closed-loop mode, and the continuous production and reproduction of the rituals create a stable foundation for the construction of a community between Fujian and Taiwan.
