A Study on Ruan Yuan's Research methodology of Ancient Characters Based on Jiguzhai Zhongdingyiqi Kuanzhi

This paper mainly discusses Ruan Yuan's methods of textual research and interpretation of ancient Chinese characters and his understanding of the evolution laws of ancient Chinese charactersin in Jiguzhai Zhongdingyiqi Kuanzhi. The methods of textual research and interpretation include comparison method, partial analysis method and textual meaning inference method, which initially forms a system of textual research and interpretation of ancient Chinese characters, and preliminarily summarizes the ancient character configuration laws theoretically. In the process of examining the classics and history based on the textual research of ancient characters, the practical application of “double evidence method” has emerged. Ruan Yuan’s status as an academic leader promoted the development of Bronze Inscription and ancient Chinese calligraphy theory and practice in the Qing Dynasty.
