Abstract
How to effectively promote students’ mastery of professional knowledge, improvement of abilities, and organic integration of ideological and political education has always been a difficult issue in the construction of ideological and political education in engineering courses. Solid waste treatment and disposal is one of the core courses in environmental engineering. In teaching practice, teachers explore ideological and political elements from professional teaching content and popular topics, events, and new phenomena that students are concerned about. With “telling stories, methods, and ideas” as the main line, they construct a new model of ideological and political teaching in the curriculum. Changing the traditional offline teaching mode with teachers as the main body, and adopting an integrated teaching mode of “teaching, learning, research, and application” to carry out innovative and practical teaching of ideological and political courses, effectively enhancing students' learning interest and strengthening the effectiveness of “moral education”.
