Abstract
Universities play a unique and irreplaceable role in teaching Chinese and spreading Chinese culture to international students. However, current international Chinese education tends to emphasize language skills while neglecting cultural teaching, resulting in insufficient understanding of Chinese culture among international students. The lack of systematic and sustained cultural experiences leads to poor cross-cultural adaptation and integration for these students. The “experiential” teaching concept, based on constructivism, emphasizes learner-centered, autonomous experiential learning, highlighting students’ subjective initiative and cognitive emotions, aims to explore effective paths for experiential cultural teaching for international students in China. By incorporating cultural experiences into teaching and telling Chinese stories, universities can promote proactive learning, recognition, and dissemination of Chinese culture among international students. Applying experiential cultural teaching in international Chinese education is of practical significance.
