Spiritual Alienation and Dissolution in the Era of Digital Capitalism

  • Capitalist society is essentially a society full of alienation, and the spiritual alienation in the era of digital capitalism is particularly prominent. In the era of digital capitalism, digital capital and digital technology work hand in hand, assisted by virtual subjects shaped by digital identities, to comprehensively and multi-level control people's personalities, thoughts, emotions, etc. The consequence of this is that people increasingly feel the pain of spiritual alienation and crisis, until freedom is gradually lost and the meaning of life fades away. The spiritual alienation of digital capitalism is mainly manifested in the one sidedness of spiritual needs under digital reinforcement; Commercialization of spiritual production under digital technology; Virtualization of spiritual communication in the digital space. We must adhere to the development of digital technology under socialism, provide rich and excellent spiritual products, create a collaborative and shared network platform, and resolve the spiritual alienation in the era of digital capitalism.
