A Study of the Elderly-friendly Design Strategy of Reading APPs and Its Application

In order to enhance the elders’ experience of mobile reading APP, this paper studies reading APP design from the perspective of elderly-friendly design. Based on the design elements of mobile reading APP and their internal logical relationship, user research is conducted by observing and focus group interview and user personas are finished, and the impression factors of the elders’ reading experience and their priorities are clarified. Based on that, the design strategies are proposed from the perspectives of visual level, interactive level and architecture level. Elderly-friendly design analysis is conducted via main reading APPs, and it shows that the proposed strategy has meaningful applicability and reference value in future elderly-friendly design, and case study is carried out to verify the applicability of the strategies.
