A Probe on the Cognitive Semantics of Noun-Noun Compounds of“Head+ N1”
Many compound words in English or Chinese are consisted of a word of basic category and another word. From the perspective of cognitive semantics, one gets to understand a concept from knowing another concrete concept by metaphor, metonymy and conceptual integration.
