Cognition and Teaching of Idioms as “as x as y” in Constructive Grammar

  • "As x as y" is a common form of English idiom. From the theory of constructive grammar, the structure of the idiom is of three characteristics:experiential, unpredictable and national. Teachers should cultivate students' overall structure of the concept, use comparative analysis, and pay attention to cultural background and repeated practice in teaching to improve the teaching effect and deepen students' understanding of "as x as y" idiom.
