On C-E Translation of Tourist Texts from the Perspective of Thematic Progression

This paper makes a comparison between Chinese and English versions of tourist texts on the basis of themerheme theory and thematic progression theory.It shows that the thematic progression patterns and their relative frequencies in both languages are similar.As a result, only when translators maintain the original thematic progression patterns as much as possible, can they deliver the original information and reproduce the original intention and effect in their translations.
