Abstract: To promote the effectiveness of ideological and political course in applied university, the first is to improve ideological and political teachers teaching ability. To promote their teaching ability is the requirements of strengthening ideological establishment, as well as the requirements of teachers self-development and course development. With the practical plight of promoting teachers teaching ability, we should strengthen their political awareness, foster educational concept of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, and promote their professional skills.
