Abstract: The publication of contributions from dissertations has been controversial in academic journals. From the perspective of copyright, the copyright of dissertation belongs to the author rather than relevant database, while the fact that unedited paper included in a database does not mean that they have been published from the perspective of publication. Therefore, the publication of contributions from dissertations is feasible, but it should be based on the specific situation of periodical press.
