Abstract: The adult ceremony in the pre-Qin period originated from the capping ceremony of boys and the hair-pinning ceremony of girls in the clan society. As an important part of life etiquette, adult ceremony marks the identification of individual ethical identity and shows the end result of different ethical lives of men and women. On the other hand, it can promote individual moral consciousness. Current adult ceremony education needs to further explore and learn from the ethical meaning of the pre-Qin adult ceremony, so as to better play the cultivation function of adult ceremony for the excellent quality of young people.
