Abstract:
With its unique artistic and design features, Chinese fan has become a model of Chinese traditional handicrafts, which has the symbolic significance of national culture. From the perspective of semiotics, this paper digs out the symbolic language of Chinese fans, explores the method of applying fan symbol to modern product design from the perspective of product structure, pragmatics and semantics, and puts forward the strategy of integrating fan symbol into modern product design from denotative and connotative layers of symbolic language, so as to provide reference for other cultural symbols to integrate into modern product design and make the design have more national characteristics and cultural competitiveness.
