Abstract:
Guided by the theory of eco-translatology, the English translations of the Tang poem
On the Height by Xu Yuanchong, Zhang Xueqing and Witter Bynner are taken as the object of study from the perspectives of linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicational dimension, and the adaptations and choices made by the translators are analyzed in their translations, which shows that the translators have great subjective initiative in the translation process, and also highlights the subjective position of the translator. In terms of the integration of the translations, Xu Yuanchong’s translation is slightly superior and has the advantage in the foreign dissemination of Chinese culture.
