Abstract: Consumerism tends to believe in the primacy of consumption and stimulate blind, anticipated and exaggerated consumption by creating false consumption desires. Consumption adversely affects the construction of socialist core values of college students. This was confirmed by a 2019 student survey conducted by Tongling University. Therefore, the cultivation of socialist values of college students in the new era must be guided from three aspects:education guide, practice cultivation and institutional guarantee. It is an inevitable choice to strengthen the cultivation of college students' basic socialist values.
