Abstract:
During the COVID-19 period, online learning platform and Production-oriented Approach (POA) are combined to construct the teaching mode of English for Medical Purposes (EMP) to put forward new suggestions on English learning for undergraduates. Through the 20-week teaching cycle, the detailed ways to implement the motivating, enabling and assessing of POA are explored to enhance medical students' comprehensive application ability of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation in English as well as their academic literacy, in order to achieve the aim of learning for practice. This course mode has shown to have positive effect since the network-based POA teaching concept can improve the learning enthusiasm of medical students and cultivate their innovative ability in language use.
