Abstract:
Based on the Hierarchy of Needs theory, combined with ERG theory, we analyze the external physiological characteristics and internal psychological needs of the elderly population, and summarize the five hierarchical structures of the elderly population from the lower to the higher levels of needs: physiological needs (perceptual characteristics, functional characteristics, emotional characteristics), ability needs, belonging needs, autonomy needs, and emotional needs, so as to enhance the scientific and pertinence of aging-adapted product design. By taking ageing-friendly product design as the entry point to integrate and innovate the elderly community and China’s industrial development, we construct an ageing-friendly product design system from the perspective of the elderly community. The design system of ageing products in Fujian Province is analyzed as an example, and the design system of ageing products is proposed to meet the development of local industries in Fujian Province.
