Abstract: Colleges and universities are the main position for cultivating top-notch innovative talents, and teachers are the backbone of educational work. Based on the characteristics and the current problems of the ideological and political work of teachers in colleges and universities in the new period, this study explores how to adapt to the new situation, build a comprehensive and synergistic ideological and political education work system, improve the long-term mechanism for the operation of teachers’ ideological and political education, fundamentally improve the ideological and political qualities of teachers, practically implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and educating people, and better take up the important task of cultivating new people of the times.
