Abstract:
The artistic legacy of Dunhuang Cave murals has exerted a profound and lasting impact on contemporary Chinese animation. Investigating the formal composition of Dunhuang Cave mural art and its application in the re-design of animation not only expands the perspectives and methodologies in contemporary animation creation but also holds practical significance for the modern dissemination of traditional folk art. Drawing upon the spiritual essence and artistic forms of Dunhuang Cave murals, this paper explores the methods and pathways of re-designing these murals in the context of animation creation, utilizing the analysis of exemplary animation cases and creative practices.
