Abstract: Based on the actual practice of information technology in college English teaching, this study reviews relevant research achievements and reconstructs the theory and practice of information technology in college English teaching in the era of new media. It proposes a path to enhance the information technology teaching competence of college English teachers, including cultivating a positive mindset towards information technology teaching, scientifically designing teaching models, establishing effective evaluation mechanisms for teaching outcomes, and continuously improving teachers’ teaching abilities.
