Abstract:
This paper explores the implications of the limitations of Skopos Theory on translation teaching by examining the current situation and existing problems in translation teaching at local universities. Translation is not merely a conversion of two languages but also a collision of two cultures. In translation teaching, it is essential to not only focus on language skills but also cultivate students’ cross-cultural awareness, critical thinking, and creativity. Integration of translation teaching with ideological and political education is crucial. By delivering high-quality translation courses, narrating Chinese stories effectively, and disseminating voice of China, a comprehensive approach to translation teaching can be achieved.
