Abstract:
The simple people-centered ideology embedded in Chinese traditional culture, as well as the attention paid by the classic Marxist writers to the material interests of real people and the relationship between proletarian political parties and the masses, are the origins of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s adherence to the idea of putting the people at the center of its thinking. During the different periods of revolution, construction and reform, the meaning of people-centeredness has been deepened according to the development of society and the transformation of the main contradiction, implying such important contents as serving the people wholeheartedly, guaranteeing the people to be the masters of their own house, satisfying the people’s material and cultural needs, and realizing a better life for the people. Adhering to the unity between the leadership of the Party and the people’s subject, the unity between social development and human development, the unity between the mass line and self-revolution, and the unity between the development of the nation and the progress of mankind is the practical purpose of the Party’s people-centeredness, and it is an important value guidance for the Party to adhere to the people-centered development ideology in the new era.
