Abstract:
Graduate School Entrance English Examination has profoundly influenced normal undergraduate students’ English autonomous learning abilities, ways of learning and effects of college English learning. This paper finds out that positive effects of Graduate School Entrance English Examination towards normal undergraduate students’ autonomous English learning are much stronger than its negative effects through investigating circumstances of undergraduate students’ autonomous English learning and practical preparation of Graduate School Entrance English Examination. Colleges and universities should enhance their ability to learn English independently, improve their methods of self-directed learning, provide more support from self-directed learning teachers, and create a suitable environment for self-directed learning in college English, in order to help improve the quality of talent cultivation in ordinary colleges and universities.
