Abstract: John Bellamy Foster’s idea of ecological revolution focuses on the global ecological crisis and proposes to explore the path of building a socialist ecological civilization by criticizing the capitalist accumulation system and the financialization of nature. He strongly advocates the implementation of “de-growth” mode in rich economies, and emphasizes the importance of central planning in realizing harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature. His ideas are instructive for resolving the ecological crisis, advocating social change and global cooperation to transcend the capitalist framework and realize eco-socialism, and to jointly address global ecological challenges.
