Abstract:
Objective: To explore the effects of Internet addiction on academic stress, and to further analyze the chain mediating role of self-control and social anxiety. Methods: 690 college students from various universities in Hefei, Anhui province were investigated by using the Internet Addiction Diagnosis Scale, academic stress scale, social anxiety scale and self-control scale. Results: Internet addiction affects the academic pressure of college students in many ways. One is to influence academic stress through the mediating role of social anxiety or self-control. The second is to further influence academic stress through the chain mediating effect of social anxiety on self-control. Conclusion: Based on the above empirical conclusions, it is suggested that increasing face-to-face social interaction and strengthening self-control can alleviate the academic pressure of college students and prevent the occurrence of Internet addiction behavior.
