Abstract:
With the support of powerful algorithmic systems, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) plays a positive role in fostering critical thinking skills among foreign language majors. However, excessive reliance on GenAI, along with issues such as uneven content quality and content homogenization, poses challenges to the cultivation of students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, coordinated efforts from educational administrators, foreign language teachers, and students are needed to enhance students' AI literacy, so as to promote the regulated and responsible use of GenAI, and further strengthen the development of critical thinking skills among foreign language majors.
