Abstract: Social security pension system for urban and rural residents meets the wishes of farmers but it encounters some problems during its operation. In order to ensure its sustainable development, orientation on the social security pension system for urban and rural residents is needed and it must integrate with social security system for farming workers and household registration system, and further improve and perfect it in three aspects: payment, benefits and the integration of land transaction system.
