Abstract:
Speech can be divided into the explicit and the implicative. The linguistic effect of the latter is acquired through the understanding of correlation reasoning in the communication. It is found from perspective of correlation and cooperation principle that the latter is characteristics of semantic dwelling, calculability, correlation, conventionality and information relativity, its perlocution condition is concerned with the linguistic context, cultural background and psychological condition, and its implicative paradigm is covered in the speech of humor and politeness as well as the behavior of indirect speech. It is concluded that the correlation theory and cooperation principle is not efficient enough to explain the communicative perlocution of implicative speech due to the deficiently abstractness of theory.
