Abstract: In the early years of new China (1949~1966), gouache painting separated from watercolor painting, becoming an independent painting, which is not only an important part of picture posters and new year pictures, but also the basic part of curriculum system in art school. The development of gouache painting conforms to the trend of the times, and the creation of style, theme, content is in accordance with art policy at that time and gives play to its role.
