林乐知译论诠释研究

A Study of Young John's Translation Theory

  • 摘要: 林乐知译论诠释体现在译名、合译和改写三个方面。《新名词之辨惑》针对设定新译名的翻译策略,是傅兰雅译名策略的沿革;合译模式下,《中东战纪本末》中所揭示的翻译选材及目的,是林乐知在深刻剖析晚清现状基础上提出的翻译选择;改写策略下,《文学兴国策》结合晚清之实际,通过翻译呼吁教育兴国。

     

    Abstract: Young John's translation theory is interpreted from 3 aspects:the translation of terminology, cooperative translation and rewriting. The translation strategy of setting new terms of translation mentioned in Delusions on New Terms is an evolution of John Fryer's translation strategy of terminology; having deeply explored the status quo of the late Qing Dynasty, Young John's aim of translation is represented in the materials he selected for Zhong Dong Zhan Ji Ben Mo by the mode of cooperative translation; in view of the reality of the late Qing Dynasty, Young John called for the prosperity of China through education by rewriting Education in Japan.
