Bakhtin Grotesque in Snopes Trilogy

  • 摘要: 斯诺普斯三部曲以其边疆逸闻故事风格示人,打破了性别、阶层、物与人的界限,其文本怪诞性极具张力和阐释性。巴赫金理论中怪诞与美国南方文学呈现出关联性,三部曲中的怪诞正是南方社会被撕扯的体现,包括去“宏大叙事”的民间逸闻故事、南方怪诞身体群像和对信念的脱冕。

     

    Abstract: With its frontier anecdotal story style,Snopes trilogy breaks the boundaries between genders,classes,things and people,whose text has the grotesque nature of great tension and interpretation.The grotesque in Bakhtin's theory is related to the southern literature of the United States.The grotesque in Snopes trilogy is exactly the embodiment of the tearing up of the southern society,including folk anecdotes without "grand narrative",grotesque figures of the South and the decrowning of faith.
