Abstract: The ideological and political construction of metallurgical engineering freshman seminar is conducive to the organic combination of knowledge impartation and value guidance. Teachers should enhance the consciousness of ideological and political education, improve the ideological and political teaching ability, deeply dig the ideological and political elements and optimize the teaching methods, so as to make the freshman seminar become an important basic course to cultivate students' comprehensive ability.
