Abstract: House holds that the key to the assessment of translation quality is the understanding of the nature of translation, that is, to keep the semantic, pragmatic and textual meaning unchanged from the source language to the target language. According to House's assessment model, Zhang Peiji's English version of The Sight of Father's Back is a explicit translation, containing a small amount of explicit errors and implicit errors, and the influence of these errors's main functions are very small. Generally speaking, the target translation conforms to the source text in a high degree and the quality of the translation is high.
